The newest version of Overstate's Polymoog has Filter Scaling. I find that by running the lower half of the board through the Resonators (with high bass/medium medium/zero high pass) and the top half through an opened-up VCF, i get that amazing bassvox/sopranovox sound that was demonstrated by Shaun. You would not believe how authentic it sounds!
To Shaun: Why do you think that the Polymoog uses such a strange and not-Moogy language? Resonators? Mode? Direct? Final Decay?
What the hell? It took me a while to understand such a convoluted approach to Analog Synthesis but once i understood it, i was hooked! How genial of them to offer 2 different Filters! One of them being a LP/BP/HP Resonator and the other being a more traditional (albeit tinier) Filter.
The Keyboard Velo....*Ahem* Dynamics is a nice touch for that extra touch. You really feel as if you are playing the Instrument you are Synthesizing!
Now i understand what all the hype (beyond VOX) is!
I can't wait until the GUI is done! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sweet baby jesus. This is fantastic. Thank you so much. I'm very impressed with this. So, I'm confused. Who do we actually have to thank for creating this VSTi that can be compared to the SPITFIRE MKI !!! I'm going to be awake all night playing with this thing. Oh, I just pissed my pants with excitement. Can't wait till it's finished.

Oh, my word. His arse will indeed be kissed. Does Overstate2007 have a real name? He has just made history here. I'm naming my first born child after him. He's up there with Alexander Fleming and Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Tonight I'm putting on my black jeans, dinner jacket, brown shirt and blue/red tie. I've still got the eyeliner somewhere. Oh yes, tonight it is 1979 in West London and I am a synth pop idol.

Where's the link to download it? There isn't going to be a link Bern. This guy is working extremely hard on this and until it's ready all that will be posted is audio clips of the work in progress. I don't expect Overstate to just give this thing away. That's just crazy and in my opinion devalues his work. There will be a minimum fee to contributing members of this forum (basically to cover costs, so don't panic, we haven't all gone capitalist all of a sudden).

Shaun, I'm a bit confused as he posted a link before your post just now. The reason I asked was the previous poster (magiccrumb) had said he was going to be playing it all night- hence I thought it was already available in an (of course) unfinalised state...

Shaun just took the link down. But don't worry, Tokyohunter, you will be pleased to know that whilst you sleep tonight, I'll be having more fun then ever in my life.

No need to be confused. I removed the post with the link in it. I know it wasn't posted for anything other than the best of intentions but I've been speaking to Overstate (Clinton) about this behind the scenes and of course nobody knew this.
Firstly, I don't think it should be passed around until it's finished and secondly I don't think Clinton should be doing all this for nothing. That's just not fair.
We've still got a way to go yet. There's enough there to make me take an interest for sure but the fine tuning and exactness has yet to be applied. This is where comparing it constantly to the real thing will pay off in the end.
Crumb... if you're this excited already, I think you're going to need an ambulance when THAT patch has been fine-tuned to sound like the real thing ;D

I'm really looking forward to it. And yes, I'd gladly pay for something that good. Clinton deserves it.

I can confirm it works in FL Studio 4.51 NO problem about paying for the finished version...definately seems like a labour of love for the guy creating it...
Technical question: Once the completed version is all ready and hokey kokey, will it run in Logic 8 or does it have to be converted into another format to run on a Mac based app?

Second what Shaun said.
To Tokyo, as far as I know, there are only now some VST sub-hosts for them to work in mac. I can't remember about any of them, but google it and you should find it.
To whoever wants to name their kid after me, my name is Clinton Joseph Rowley. Don't do it, mate.
Anyways, it's back to the grindstone!

Once this thing finally comes out, you know what we should do? A song! I will make a nice Linn Drum beat, and then someone else does the Bass line, and then another person does the strings/chords, etc.
AND DON'T YOU TELL ME "*Waaah!* The Polymoog sucks at Bass sounds!" because that is NOT TRUE. I have made some pretty cool bass sounds with the latest version of this VST.
PS: Overstate2007 sent me the Lead section of his ARP Quadra....... this is the only VST GUI i have ever seen that is many times better then one from Arturia....

Interested to hear this. Is their any way to download the audio demo (having missed out on the vst itself) without signing up to a hosting site i.e. mediafire? Is it mirrored anywhere else?
Ta.

I will definitely do another Audio Demo of Vox Humana; (seeing as that's all anyone REALLY cares about...) probably the Replicas Intro.
If you want any other presets to be demoed than speak up!
need i remind my learned readers that this is a replica of the 203a, however, it uses all the features of the 280a that made Vox Humana possible (i.e. the special filter/s) so Overstate included it as a bonus.
When he first sent me the original (60% completed) non-exporting SynthEdit prefab, that was the patch he had set up.
After playing with it for a while, i finally realized just how special of a sound VH is, i mean, it has this THICK bottom and HIGH-FREQ top.
The combination of the VCF and the Resonator Bank are just amazing! Perhaps that's one of the Polymoog's best features, the wide range Resonators! ...and the ability to split the Filters like you would a patch on a JP-8...

Okay, Pally-Wallys! Here's today's clip! www.mediafire.com/?aymnmjlnntw(You Don't Need A Membership To Download This File!) This IS Vox Humana! Replicas Intro. Okay, Technical stuff for all you Technites! This is the latest and greatest version of Overstate2007's Polymoog 203a/280a Hybrid playing the famous Vox preset. It was made by simply assigning the Resonator to the Lower half of the keyboard to make that deep bassy drone while the Voltage Controlled Filter is assigned to the Upper half. It should be noted that the VCF is all the way open and 0 Emphasis has been added. It should also be noted that the Reverberation heard in this demo is NOT found on the VST, what you are hearing is actually Classic Reverb from a VST maker i cannot pronounce. Anywho, if you haven't already, load this mofo up and prepare to be blown the fuck away!

There's a lot of the sound character there but there's still quite a way to go. On that rep clip the top end is too bright and fizzy but yeah, the bass tone is much better. The main problem is the modulation is going wow wow wow wow all the time. The hardest part will be cracking the random modulation on the real thing (that's what gives this sound it's, (so far) illusive quality.
