www.binaryzero.com/mp3/Arix-computerworld-derezz.mp3basically a rough snippet. i wanted to show a difference in tone to the original without giving too much away of what's going to happen to it. there will be vocals in the final, mainly speech synth with some added effects and some serious glitch/stutter edits. basically the whole final mix is going to be done in steps: 1.) the sounds and sequences are laid out in FL studio 2.) free jammed in ableton for layout and processing 3.) mangled even further and mixed down in Adobe Audition i felt to work in a manner completely unlike what i do normally, because one i needed the break from screaming dancefloor domination, and two i felt the board deserved some wacky sound design butchery for me. sorry about the time deadline i forget it's mainly a UK forum.

I missed the deadline but to be honest this is probably as far as mine would have got anyways which is not far. Unmixed and raw to say the least. Good Luck with the rest of the compo Neon Pants I like the intro alot but i think the transition into the main part of the track was a bit abrupt ;D

Another good intro which flows easier into the main track ;D

Binaryzero: That is sounding really interesting. What do you do to get those snare sounds?

@tokyo well percussion in the clip is three things: 1.) 3 shaker samples sequenced to make a 8 bar loop. some antares tube, bitcrushed down to 4 bit and made 40% wet signal, livecut running at 50% wet signal for some "subdued" glitches and skitters, Dblue's glitch to spit out a 32 bar loop, and then fed to Voxengo's Marquis compressor to tighten the sound up. (the voxengo compressor does render out some delay, so you have to trim the first 19 samples of silence out.) 2.) the kick is really me flicking my scrotum with my forefinger. waves ren bass, a fab filter volcano on lowpass with the res up high, and then psp easy verb for a darker sound. 3.) the clap sound is from the VEH-1 sample disc with camelphat and fab filter again for lowpass duty. yes i have too much free time.

exactly how it sounds Gavin: i recorded thwapping myself in the ballbag a few times, and tweaked it around till i had a kick sound. i try to put one off color derived sound in every song i make for my own sick personal amusement.

my contribution is completely restarted. My cooledit pro went up the spout and despite saying it recorded at 44100 actually recorded at 28800 which meant the sound qaulity was awful.
Had to completely restart the whole thing after a reload but at least the drums are much better this time. If I can pull it all together I will post something when it's listen worthy.

I'm just sorting out some lush analogue sounds to go over, through & around mine. I've adjusted levels, E.Q's and effects (thanks Dubs for the tips ) #grinythumbyone# and am getting more & more happy with it. #joannaman#
Although my PC is set up, I am still jigging my keyboards around like a crazed feng shui artist !
I'm hoping to have it sorted soon, so I can have all my equipment laid out ready for the picture taking kit list upload. (I'm sure there's some filthy pun in there somewhere! ) #zongo#
Ooooh! even more icons to choose from. Like this one. #whippy02#

How's everyone getting on with this ? The final deadline of 26th March is fast approaching #dog# I've tried so many different add ons/variations to mine I can't decide which to leave in/take out. DOH ! #confused02# Monica says she likes the more minimal versions, so I may leave it quite minimalistic with a few choice sounds on top.
I will defo post something in by 26th March though. ;D

Mine's pretty much done - just got to get the mic out and puzzle out the Cubase vocoder to do the 'spacelab' bits!
