Shaun, I checked out the Strings in Hypersonic and did'nt really get the ones I wanted so I opted for an sfx file I downloaded a while back of the Arp Odyssey Strings and thought it worked better. I've also added a couple of other little bits here and there and uploaded again - Link below. I have not added effects or eq'd it as it was using up a lot of cpu on my pc (it's fine on the missus's laptop)... I don't know if it's cheating or anything but maybe someone out there (hint hint) could do the rest? No worries if that's not possible. media.putfile.com/Take-2-Kraftwerk-TEX-II

I couldn't think of a better example of cheating if I tried Gary (what are you like ). Those strings are lovely mate. Is that the dubsounds soundfont? Pretty much what I had in mind but I keep forgetting I'm onto Hypersonic 2 now with the US-1 Ultrasynth addon I don't like the saw stabs at all (you could easily ditch them to get more cpu cycles) but that "talking synth" is well funny ;D

Ok....oops...forget I mentioned the 'help'...sorry guys. Yeh the strings I got from you Mister B so of course they'll be lovely...haha I'm not going to put up anymore versions now until the closing date as I have taken on board the advice but thanks for the comments.
I have actually done this from memory and up until the other day when it was played on Celebrity Big Brother, it was about 20 years since I last heard Trans Europe Express.I was kinda thinking of the Planet Rock melody and then it came togeather. I think I may even get myself some Kraftwerk now, not loads as I am not really a fan as such but I will check out some.

So are you gonna do the vocals in german, english or both? Do you have a link to it?
Stage 1 ends 14.02.06 (which is Day 40) In your case that can be the end of stage 2. Basically there are 2 stages each lasts 40 days.Everyone needed more time due to various reasons (including myself) so day 40 became the day to submit whatever you had done to that point.40 days after that is the end of stage 2.At that point track must be completed.Near the end of March (I think the 26th but I'd have to scroll back and check previous post).

OK, here is a link to my first draft (still un-finished) contribution. It is still a work in progress and basically it's mainly just bass & drum at the moment. The next stage for me is to add some LOVELY analogue sounds to go over the top of it. I realise I still have some level issues to correct and effects to tweak, but any comments or constructive critisism would be most welcome. This has been real fun so far & I am looking forward to completing it once my house move has been sorted (next week). Oh ! Sorry if it is still sounding a little techno-ish, My next stage will soften it all down a bit ( I promise!) media.putfile.com/MusicNStopBASIC153Dannymoog

Just having a quick scan of the board (a bit of a hit & run as I'm down with bronchitis at the mo) but I couldn't just bugger off again without showing a my apreciation for Dan's MNS mix.
All I gotta say is the techno is fine and need NO softening... its BRILIANT, extremely up my street you young Kevorkian you ;D
Just moog it to death now mate.

Yeah this is not the kind of techno I was objecting to.
I meant the techno-trance banging handbag house type stuff.
In which case keep on bleeping!
What did you do the vocoder vocals with?

I love that - nice and minimal - it's the rests, not the notes, y'see :-)

;D Thanks Shaun, I'm gonna lay it down on a bed of Moog and then tickle it with some ARP. If I'm still feeling frisky I may stroke it with some MXR ! Hope you feel better soon mate, bronchitis can be rather nasty. I used a simple program called "SayIt" available from AnalogueX (free). Then I played around with various effects untill I got the desired sound. Here is a link to their free audio download page. It is genuine freeware - no catches or shareware shit. www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio.htm ;D
