Cheers for that Martin/Lu Nice clean bass drum sound, Lu sounds cooooool & sexy ! Good selection of effects and a good mix, to my ears. I like how it develops and changes throughout the track. Nice lovely 'Screamer type' odd/unique sounds in there too ;D I can't think of anything to change, I like the feel of it as it is. Sounds nicely hand played & quite live. A damn fine LP track IMO.

Excellent track! I love the production, lots of things going on without being chaotic or unnecessary. So many cool sounds. The bass sound really is spot on as are the vocals.Only thing I might suggest is maybe knock a tiny percent of vocal volume. But that is just my personal hearing (on headphones),might be different on speakers. Winter Kills, that's a good old track from Yazoo and could really be adapted well and fleshed out from it's piano base. There are so many others to consider too like Ode To Boy and Nobody's Diary. Quick tip, if you need to hear a track that you can't find on Youtube for example cause it's an album track then go to german amazon as they have samples of track of nearly all albums to play unlike the uk amazon www.amazon.de

Thanks for that bern ;D And thanks for the link mark,it's a beautiful track, the only thing is ,it's very similar to what i like a song to be like already so not alot of scope for change. Maybe berns idea of fleshing out the piano platform might work

...the only thing is ,it's very similar to what i like a song to be like already so not alot of scope for change... I have to say Martin, those were my exact thoughts about the suggestion. I think you could consider it as a "live filler" though as it would be a good one to play out as I guess there will be plenty of people that remember Yazoo. Now onto Bleed: Yeah, like everyone above, I'm really impressed by this one. Lou is so good on this and you seem to have stuff like the beats which were never a strong point pretty much nailed here. You been doing your homework? The only thing I could think of as constructive help was that the mix sounds a bit thin. Instrumentally, there doesn't seem to be very much happening stage-centre and in the mid-range. It seems to be a lot of top and some low thumping with Lou dominating the proceedings... but then again, that's not a bad thing when she's doing it so well Do you think the song could benefit from any more keyboards? Not sure myself but there feels like something needs to be there. If I you were to go on with it, I would advise you to try something off your beaten path. Normally you fill that hole I'm talking about with a piano... So why not instead, see if your mate could add a warm acoustic guitar plucking away with the same kind of arps you play on the piano. Bit of minimal bass guitar might be nice too just to solidify it. I guess nothings ever finished. It's just up to you where you abandon it ;D Sorry for rambling... back off to bed now with paracetamol

Cheers joe/shaun,helpful tips and advice as always. I've been filling the mix out today(maybe too much )we'll see. Joe,do you mean the analogue instrumental cd?if so,i think it would just be too time consuming if it were to be done properley. Recording, mixing, artwork, distribution etc.if we lived closer it would have been easier

Liquidscreamer's Mum & Dad (1982)Sorry chaps In answer to your question Joe. As Martin says, distance is the BIG problem. It's also not helped by my health issues right now. The plan was that we would be doing it right now but that hasn't happened. No matter, I'm a great believer in things happening at the right moment and not subject to being "forced", so in that respect, I know this is going to happen because we all want it to. It just has to fit in with the three of us, our jobs and locations. One of my problems is with the release of this track, I now have 59 demos from the Screamies to consider for recording and we're going to have to be ruthless to knock it down to 12-14. I also don't want Martin and Lou to stop making songs up either because they get better and better so we might miss out on a blinder. I just hope Martin's keeping all the multi-tracks in case one of his keyboards goes down and we have to "lift" the sound into the "studiofied" version. Also, (as I've found to be the case) Louise herself may not be able to top a vocal from one of the demos so we may end up lifting there as well. As for the electronic instrumental collaboration, I will do this with Martin after the Screamies album. This one can be done easily by DVDR swapping I think. There won't be much need for me to be up in Kendal for that one. So there you have it... just a matter of timing. Oh! and I want a B&B Martin, I'm not crashing on a camp bed in your shed. Not with my back... oh! and i want en suite and groupies ;D

Loving what you've done. The panned psycho synth is AWESOME!!! I know it was there before but I just didn't notice it like I did in this mix. I think there's some bass guitar there too, sounds great when I can hear it. Hating the guitar though. Soft MELLOW nylon strings on an acoustic yes but this brittle tinny guitar... no. I like the fact that it's out of tune though ;D One further thing mate? Why do you disable downloading on your myspace? That's so annoying #comprage2#

You know me shaun, the proper thing to do is to wait for a proper guitarist to find the time to add something...but the quickest way is to do it myself The downloading thing, there is a box to check to allow downloads,i never even think about it.i supose if people like the song they'll have to come back to listen again ;D

Sounds good Martin. The guitar doesn't fit quite right though. The other bits you have added sound bloody great. This is turning into a damn fine track. The guitar has added another eliment to it, which I think I like, but it is not quite right yet IMO. Keep playing with it though. This is a bloody good song.
