Got mine & watched them both (Although not entirely yet) and thought they deserved some feedback: Thanks again to Mike for generously sending these out around the world ;D DVD1 Kings Brigade 2006 (Numan Tribute): Despite several technical problems in a true analogue style How great was it to hear real Polymoog & Minimoog live I liked the way that despite the problems experienced by various members of the band (Moog cutting out, tambourine breaking etc) you all carried on admirably ;D I also liked the way that Mike (I am pretty sure that was you) managed to change polymoog presets during Cars and got those lovely pitch bends in on I Die You Die ;D Nice to see someone bashing the hell out of a Synare drum too Not so sure about the singer though. it is really hard to sound like Numan and perhaps he was just trying to do his own twist on things, but the music was more of a highlight for me DVD2: JET RINK 2004. Loved a lot of the sounds you used on this. Fantastic analogue synth playing and pretty good songs too. How nice is it to hear real analogue equipment being played live in a band (foooking nice !) The visual effects got on my nerves a bit, but that may have been cos I would much rather of seen more of the band and Mike playing those lovely synths ? Thanks again for sending these and well done on doing them. I do intend to watch them in their entirety, but for now that's my thoughts so far. ;D

Hey thanks Danny! Glad you got to see them. Jett Rink was my band from 2001 to 2006, and we did that TV program about 3 years ago. Yeah, the look was inspired by those times when video effects were a brand new thing, and were used to a ridiculous maximum. The guys at the station added those effects in real time, but I'm not quite sure where they came up with those very random stock images that kept appearing! The girl was the actress Alyson Hannigan, and there was a shot from Rocky IV. I'm not sure about the others..
Re - the Numan disc.. yeah, our very own Gaz has been the most negative comment from people (especially those native to the UK). Honestly, he never really listened to any Numan before this, but for maybe a little. And if you remember my complaining on this board last year, he wasn't a good band mate either.. we only practiced with him maybe 3 times, and none of those times he knew the lyrics. He finally crammed them into his head the day before. But we all had a blast playing the music, and trying to get the kit just right. Yes, that was me changing the Polymoog presets on Cars. It was VH, and I believe Strings 2. Actually, changing to Strings 2 and engaging the phaser at the same time was the biggest challenge. It was fun doing the intro to cars the real way! Our other keyboardist suggested using a sample, and I said fuck that - listen to this! byomyomyomyomyomyomyomymom
Well anyway, thanks for your thoughts! I'm glad I got to share those discs. Anyone else who wants one, PM me, and I'll eventually send one out!
