If you could just press pause on your ipods for a few moments, you might like to listen to this totally analogue version of creep we had some fun with the other night. ;D CREEP

Very nice Martin. Very spacious and overflowing with deep sounds and lushness, and quite emotional in it's feeling. Vocals sound much better mixed/leveled than on some other of your tracks. Creepy version of creep ! I can see this one being on the dubsounds Ipod ! Very pro sounding ;D

Bit too loud Martin, could have gone a bit more subtle in the mixing mate.
There's one thing that's really making it hard for me to listen to it at the moment though. The tuning is way out mate. I'm not sure which instruments ARE out of tune but playing against each other it sounds like an old record where the hole isn't in the middle so it's all wobbly in a 16 pints, oh fuck... I'm gonna hurl kind of way.
I also think lou's harmoies are off as well (mind you, which synth was she pitching from?).
Please don't be put down by any of this mate. I think you need to take note of what I've said though. There's a MASSIVE difference between pleasant de-tuning and out of key horribleness ;D

Comments and advice,as always, appreciated and digested ;D The only part of the vocal i struggled to do anything with was "she's running out the door"etc.i tried the pitch correction but it just made louise go all wobbly Would it be better playing the vocal melodies on a stable digital synth and getting louise to sing to just the one synth and the beat then add all the rest later? There is 7/8 analouge synths on the track so,considering i don't know how to tune any of them, the contradicting "tuneness"of the various instruments is a problem i need to start rectifying.

The production's deffo coming on nicely though ;D

I think when i'm just adding noises i get away with the various synths being slightly out of tune, but in this case, there are quite a few lead lines been played by different synths.
Jordan, the piano sound is the cp-30 which i added 5 mins before i uploaded.
Maybe a bit hasty there ;D

Martin you REALLY don't know how to tune your keyboards? I can't belive that mate - really Look at the CP-30. What are the first two knobs on the left called? Pitch? Think so Turn off all the voices except 1. Tune that (left pitch knob) to a sustained (non-modulated) piano note on your Korg Shiton. Once the CP-30 is in tune, switch that voice off and put on the second voice and repeat the procedure using the second pitch knob. Done? Right, switch on both voices together and they should be both in perfect tune. NOW you can detune them. Take the left pictch knob and turn it anti-clockwise about 1 mark. Then turn the right knob clockwise about 1 mark. This is how I have mine set at the moment but if the overall pitch is out your "interval" between the knobs should be the same but they may be slightly more to the left or right. As for Lou's vocals, I think getting her to pitch from a digital synth first is probably a good bet. Also, don't just give her the melody either. Give her a backing pad (chords) too so she can hear the scale properly.

I thought the knobs on the outside were for fine tuning but you have to go inside to tune them up properley. You do on the odyssey and the minimoog definately(or maybe?)

I thought the knobs on the outside were for fine tuning but you have to go inside to tune them up properley. You do on the odyssey and the minimoog definately(or maybe?) Well the CP-30 is divide-down tech like the Polymoog so it won't be out of tune with itself, therefore all it needs is the panel tune knobs. Most analogue synths though need to be scaled correctly across their keyboards e.g. Mini's and Oddys have to be trimmed to ensure 1 volt = 1 octave, otherwise the pitch will sharpen or flatten as you play up the keyboard - most unpleasant. I think the issue with your piece here is that you weren't starting with all the synths in tune with each other. Sorry, I'm not meaning to detract from the creativity of the song, which is very good
