Gavin
Would love to talk about all of them but have only heard of Eno.
Roxy music now there is a weirdo in Brian Ferry. Great voice but strange chap.
Got a video of them and Mr Ferry is quite a keyboard player which I had never realised. a Fender Rhodes I think.

Is this place just a stop off point for Numan fans? It's a fair cop guv What would you say was a good intro to Autechre? They caught my eye (but not my ear) a couple of years ago when I was toying with getting a Nord MicroModular - apparently they use(d) them a lot live. Haven't heard much by them though. Here's one to check out - The Crystal Method: Tweekend. The baddest synth bass I have ever heard, bar none.

I What would you say was a good intro to Autechre? . The one that goes "brrzz bip bip biiiing doooooooooooooppppp" :-) Their earlier stuff is more melodic.Try "Amber" or "Incubulabuna" (sp)."Tri repeatae "is a kind of half way stage for them.Recent albums are harder to get to grips with. The are the ultimate in glitchyness but if you listen closely you can hear more than you first think. "Untitled" the newest one is not what id call easy listening.

Hi Gavin
they're ( NIN) doing a 2nd night in Sydney so I'm going to hop on a plane from Auckland. No decent bands ever seem to make it to NZ. ( Just had Rod Stewart and Neil Diamond for fucks sake!!!)

Have any of you guys ever heard The Screamers? One of the first LA punk bands in 1977,the had no guitars....they had a guy with a fender rhodes pumped into a fuzzbox and another guy on a ARP Odyssey....plus a drummer and singer...the sound was increidibly aggressive and they have been a long time fave in my igloo...seek them out!

Wow, Gavin are you a Branca fan? If so you should hop on over to the Glen Branca Forum. It's quite new so there's not much action yet, but hopefully it'll pick up. i'm also a moderator over there.

Those are from the Screamers first Demo, recorded 7/7/77 often known as "the Wilton Hilton" demos,as they lived in this trashy apt bulding on Wilton in Hollywood....a live show from SF circulates on video and it sounds furious,as well as other live tapes of various quality, usually tricky to find, due to the bands general secrecy and many of the people involved in that scene are either dead, missing or dope casualitys a LP called 1978 demos is frequently on ebay and is well worth seeking out,if anyones interested in video or audio, give me a shout
