Hi guys. After the encouraging comments about my fun polymoog and P5 track on the Sound Exchange part of the forum, I thought I'd send another little bitty. This one features a CR78 with an oberheim DMX in the middle doing the drum line. The main tune is all from my polymoog with & without an MXR Phase 100, and a few notes from a Kork M1 (piano). As with my last track this was done mainly for the sounds rather than musical content. think of it as an ode to a polymoog (& a cr78!). Anyway, I hope this sparks a little cord with you polymoog lovers & rings the bells of any CR78 fans Not sure it's gonna cream any pants but it raises my follicles ;D INTO THE ASYLUM Dan.

What I like most about this is that it's analogue! It sounds to me like there's not a computer, sequencer or sampler in sight and it is quite a refreshing contrast after listening to so much digital media over the last decade or so. Listen to the start-up and check out that tape hiss novelty or what? Takes me right back to those glorious portastudio 80's... Not intrusive or nasty, just warm and cosy ;D In addition to my favourite synth voice ever, Daniel has also used my two most favourite drum machines and possibly the best phaser ever made Could there be anything missing? Well yeah, a spring reverb, chorus and tape echo from an RE-301 and some ARP Odyssey would complete my eargasm but this is just so nice that maybe too much honey would make me ill (or maybe not ). OK! so joe public hearing this would be forgiven for saying "that sounds like Gary Numan" but maybe that was the point, (the clue is in the song title) but the fun Daniel obvoiusly had putting this together shows and seem to have been captured on tape too. Nothing to get serious and high-brow about by any means but something for us lot on here to smile about.

Thank guys, glad you liked it. You'r e spot on with the "all analogue" comment. The only digital device used was the Korg M1 for the piano, everything else is analogue & it was all recorded on a portastudio 8 track tape recorder !!! So the tape hiss is genuine. Everything you hear was played by hand too - no sequencers. When I've played this to mates I've had comments like "its a bit weird" or "there's not much going on" but to me music is about the sounds and the feelings, not just the musical content. So it is great to find some other people that appreciate the sounds. What a fab forum this is... Dan ;D

The Polymoog gives it eerie (hairs on neck job) feeling!!!!. The CR78 sounds as luvely as ever, and Shaun is spot on bout the Analog feel to the track, the warmth shines through, and this is the discussion which I have had with so many ppl in the past........ANALOG STILL RULES!!!!!!. Russ

I've had this track in a loop on my iPod this afternoon. Such emotion in the sounds, beautiful and I love the composition too. Any more stuff you've done?
