"Mama" uses three main synths. An Arp Quadra does the stacatto (sp?) part at the beginning, plus other little things. The sound I think you mean in the song (sorta towards the beginning on top of the Quadra part) is a NED Synclavier. Then a couple of minutes in where the brassy chord pads are is the Prophet-10 that Tony used quite a lot at the time. I'm also not ashamed to admit that I like Phil-era Genesis way more than the Gabriel. Don't get me wrong, I like both. But I do prefer the Collins stuff more. Wind and Wuthering is great, Duke is fantastic, Abacab is a little lesser in my book. I even really like 'Face Value'. The next two of his albums I think were certainly passable. :'(OOOOH American..........Likes Genesis......... You don't have a fetish for business cards and personal grooming do you

Cheers everyone,i've been reliably informed it was a synclavier 2. But dannys patch is close enough to stem the urge to buy one

Given my earlier post that was what i was thinking - doesn't like Gabriel, Duke is their best, OMG if he likes Sussudio we better warn the neighbours.

Ten years from now everybody will tell how much they loved Phil Collins. And when he's gone, he will probably be remembered as a musical genius. I've seen it happen before... Genesis performing Mama live. Bad quality, but the Synclavier, Arp Quarda, Prophet-10, etc are clearly visible. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lO3vmsIxVQU&feature=related

Who's that guy with the dodgy mullet? You were supposed to look at the keyboards, not Phil! And the P-10 is'nt that visible at all. It's hidden under the Quadra.
