Yes! I am in the Jupiter-4 group *gasp!* It is my favourite synthesizer. The polymoog is second, although the two are pretty close...
I'm typically interested in hearing the oddball synths... they seem to be capable of the most unique textures (i.e. they're not just "another analog synthesizer").
Music is my past time, and I sell some tracks on iTunes and other places. I use a lot of software, but I also like to throw in a bit of analog for some spice. The software does what analog can't, and the analog does what the software can't sort of thing.
I hope to get a polymoog 280a some time soon. I have the money, just need to find someone who wants to sell one SEE! Money can't buy everything!
The polymoog is going to be my third and last analog synthesizer. Three seems to be like a good number. Only the Jupiter-4 and Polymoog *really* entrance my attention.
Currently in the process of getting good soldering equipment, too. Vintage synthesizers and vintage computers (heck even new computers!) will/need capacitor replacements. My current iron is toast... just couldn't hold up against the RoHS unleaded solder (the thing has to be like at least 200 watts, which mine is not). And that's why, kids, you put lead in your solder!
