With a little help from the internet I have managed to get this theme tune and have re-created it in Orion, using the Albino2. I did this so I could get all the notes etc in order to record a version using the Synthex etc. I thought you guys might want to listen to a little bit of the Albino version for now. I'll load up the Synthex version once I've finished it. I thought the strings line was just 3 notes but NO, there are about 3 different tracks doing different things with the strings, but I think I've got it sussed now. However, any comments on the closeness of my 1st version would be welcome before I start the hand played Synthex version. ;D Hope you like it anyway. It took me 4 hours to do ! www.dannymoog.co.uk/halloween.wma

Oh! Forgot to say, it ends a bit abruptly cos the finish is in-between bars and Orion will only finish on a bar when streaming to WAV. However, the main tune is finished before it cuts off.

The sequence needs a harder edged sound Dan. I grabbed this one quickly Halo

That was a standard midi sound, nothing special. didn't mean you to use it just demonstrating what i meant really. I'm sure you can do something much better.
Had to change the avatar just to keep up with the crowd but will rvert to the trusty Poly again shortly.

;D I've changed the sound to something between what you had & a real piano. Sounds better already. I've also amended the low string sounds and done a better mix (I hope!). www.dannymoog.co.uk/halloween2.wma

Been thinking about this and I thought it would be a good idea to have both versions on here when they are finished, to compare. So there will be one version done purely on Orion using VSTI's and one done by hand on analogue gear (mainly the synthex). I reckon it would be good to compare the two. I'm betting that whilst the Orion version will be snappy and crisp, the analogue version will be dirty and slightly out of time - but hopefully in a good way. It was interesting doing the Orion version because even though there are 3 different string sounds going together, you can here all of them doing what they do as if they were on their own. BUTT ! When you layer 3 analogue sounds on top of each other (especialy using different notes/cords), they all intermingle and change the overall sound. Am I talking bollocks here, or does anyone else know what I'm trying to say

I think i'm with you Dan.
I find that software synths can emulate a much wider variation of sounds so if you pick 3 Albino patches they can be totally different and so stand out in a mix.
If for example you choose 3 Polymoog patches they are all distinctly Polymoog even though the nature of the sound has changed. For that reason they can tend to cancel each other out a bit.
I found it with the Sh2000 doing Neon lights which is why i switched to a Mini Vst patch for the lead.
