Shaun has kindly hosted a new track I have done, motivated by playing Martin's Analog album alot at work, hearing all the little things going on in it, particularly the hard panning of sounds, but it's a different style of track to the Analog album tracks (which I recommend!) I haven't decided yet whether to strip this down more in parts and develop other parts more. Any feedback and comments welcome... www.dubsounds.com/audio_files/Tokyohunter_-_Yurikamome.mp3

Thanks guys ;D Incidentally Yurikamome is the name of the monorail MagLev train line that within Tokyo at rooftop high.recommended to travel on it at night for the "Blade Runner" experience when visiting Tokyo.(Yurikamome is in fact taken from the name of a bird).I chose the name for the track because I thought it had a night driving vibe which could be carried over to the journey on the monorail (which someone had emailed me about this week for info for their japan trip).

Seems to me there are classic TokyoH voices in there so I'm guessing substantial VST input.
Good work Bern. How are the vocoder aspirations coming?

Thanks again! ok, firstly, beat-wise there are 28 individual single hit sound samples (no loops) including some of those available from Shaun's classic rhythm boxes sound sample sets, Kick drum is 2 kick drums combined to get just the right sound.Lots of different snares treated with things like Camelspace and untreated, along with a sword swipe sample, various hihats and other percussion sounds. The ending is meant to sound like a rhythm box being stopped manually rather than fading out etc.
The Synths include Albino 3,Sylenth,PolyIblit,Blue,and Texture. The plan is still to get the Macpro next month when the new ones come out, run the hardware synths through Logic Pro (a friend who records acoustic/electric stuff uses it so will help setting up that side), and to dual boot it with FL Studio on XP, for crossing over all the already started tracks. Then the plan is to start re-working (the favourite ones adding the hardware synths particularly to modulate live any melodies that repeat, or leads that would be better with more of a live feel (monophonic parts as I am not classically trained like several people here!) Vocoder.... The vocoder will definately be appearing soon in the new set up as I already have it in the form of the Korg Radias, alot of tracks suit that kind of additional, and it will be interesting to try and do it in subtle way.

Ah, it's a train related track then!! (Shaun will understand why I find that amusing) Pete
