What Synthesizer (VCO or DCO ONLY!) had the best sounding Pulse Width Modulation? Every synth has a slightly unique PWM in my opinion, for what ever reason I think the BEST has to be a toss up between the ARP Odyssey and the OSCar.
-The Odyssey because you can sync the VCOs and apply a moderate amount of PWM on VCO-2 to get an awesome, pseudo-phaser Pulse Width Mod sound!
-The OSCar simply because it's PWM LFO (which is a self-contained LFO just for PWM) actually changes it's speed depending on where you play. In other words, it's PWM speed is directly proportional to the keyboard!
If I had to choose one......errrr I guess I would have to go with the OSCar. If for any no other reason, simply because when you overdrive the Filter but have the Cut Off Frequency in a "mellow" sounding area, you can use just ONE PWM oscillator and it will still sound wickedly PHAT!
What's your opinion?

The best Pulse Width I've heard was from a rare synth called the Venus 2000. It featured only a single oscillator and single envelope but it sounded great. It came as a big black box that housed the electronics and it was controlled not by a keyboard but from an external thing kind of like the yamaha breath controller for the DX7. There's a picture of one Here
