A while ago i mentioned a mate who was doing a covers album with various musical acquintances. Last night he brought a couple of vocalists round to mine to finish the last 3 tracks. One of these was a cover of UNKLEs when things explode,i'd never heard the original but thought this version was fantastic,so i searched out the original and gave it a spin. The cover was very close to the original so i decided to hijack it and screamer it up a bit. THIS is what i came up with. Credits: SHELF-keyboards and drum programing. KEV.B-guitars PAUL HINE-vocals LOUISE-oohs+aaahs ME-keyboards and remixing

Sounds very much like the original to me. Finding it hard to hear the vocal not by Ian Astbury. Mind you, I did imagine your backing and the late Johnny Cash doing vocals instead... Can you imagine the awesomeness of that little fantasy track? Good effort though guys and I can imagine it would sound even more brilliant to those who don't own War Stories

;D It sounded exactly like the original before i added the piano, polymoog and got louise to recreate our pop musik ooh ooh session I had the benefit of not hearing the original first so i was well chuffed in finding another great song to listen to. I've since been told the first and third UNKLE cds are worth checking out?

Pop Muzik You spoiled it now. I wondered why I liked the BV's I think you would like their stuff Martin. Most people only seem to know Rabbit in the Headlights but they're very broad-spectrum and work with some great people. What I like about them is they always put a subversive twist in everything. You can always revisit their albums and hear things you missed

I dont know the original but i like this. I like Louises bits (fnar). The singer sounds like hes going for that Barry Adamson late night at the diner talking/drool type delivery.Although his voice dosent have the character of Baz's. In fact im sure youve got a Adamson drum sample in there at one point. I was worried at one bit that the old Polymoog was gonna brake through and spoil the song but then its pulled back at the last minute. Remember ,less is more. Nice one.
