I notice that once people are corrected (Mogue, not Moooog) it doesn't stick at first. They get too awkward saying "Mogue". They try, but it then becomes "Mooooog" again.
One thing I've never grasped 100%- Is it Moguer Foguer, Moguer Fooooger, Moooger Fooooger?
I like how non keyboard geeks who want analog synths on their records describe the sounds they want. "Tweaked", "Oscillations" and "Knobs" get thrown around, as do "Mooogy" and "Phat".

i think the Moogerfoogers show that even Moog has given up trying to get it pronounced Mogue. Quite what he was thinking concerning the Little Phatty is open to specualtion.

Not forgetting Jim Bowie, inventor of the Bowie knife...pronounced 'booo-weee'. Then David came along and mucked it all up.

On American television, there's a reporter on CNN whose last name is Moos. It's not pronounced Moose, it rhymes with dose. She has a show called "Making the Moos of It"
