My local football team, kendal town, are involved in the play offs to gain promotion to the unibond premier division(3 leagues below the football league)
Today we won the semi-final on a penalty shoot-out against stocksbridge(sheffield)
So the final is in kendal on saturday and,for us locally,is the biggest game in years.
After the game today i was asked if i would sponsor saturdays final under my plastering business.
But i told them i would do it under liquidscreamer instead as long as they would get the local radio station(lakeland radio)to play SCREAM(DUB-HEAD RE-EXPERIENCE)numerous times in the week leading up to the big game.
Iam getting a phone call tomorrow to see if it's going to happen ;D

Sounds quite fair to me. It's only right if you sponsor the team you should get something back in return - a plug for the business and exposure for The Mighty Screamer. That is a definition of what sponsorship is. Best of luck ;D I've lost count of the number of times I've been asked to do freebies for some ad hoc cause or another with no regard in return. I was once approached 'as a local musician' and asked if I would busk in the street and give these people the money.... it was December

I get to choose 'man of the match' #thumbsup# in the Showers ? :DThe first thing louise said to me when i told her was "does that mean i can join them all in the bath afterwards" Update: The football club have been in touch with the radio station today and they have agreed to play one of our tracks I need to take a cd tonight and they will decide which show it is suitable for,so 3am it's gonna be then And then we are going to talk about going into the stations studio and recording a live acoustic set #yikes# I'm not sure if any of our songs can be carried off just on a piano #noooo#

Sounds like a cop out on their part.
Don't know that station but you probably have to sound like Cliff Richard to get on. Up em Martin. Narrow minds, John Peel would luv ya.
On a different topic has that Pro Soloist arrived. I wanna hear some Song Whistle clips.

On a different topic has that Pro Soloist arrived. I wanna hear some Song Whistle clips. The latest PP bass sound attempt i posted was fuzz guitar2 off the pro-soloist colin. I'll see if i can sort some song whistle out for you mate ;D

Numan must of had some decent effect on song whistle colin as it's rubbish on it's own The nostalgia version sounds better.

When Denis Haines uses it on his own stuff you can clearly hear a delay but not sure what else. If it's like my Sh2000 Song Whistle then it sounds much better tweaked with the filter than just as the basic preset.
I found a flute solo from the Soloist on the net soewhere which sounded fantastic. I will see if i can find it again and see if they mention Fx.

The flute preset is the upper voice alternative to the song whistle and it does have more characteristics to it.
Unless i'm missing something(which is possible)the pro-soloist doesn't have a tweakable filter section like the sh-2000.
The only things you can alter are brilliance and touch sensitivity.
The nicest preset i've found is bass. ;D

That's outrageous! You sponsor them and they can't be bothered to get your name right [shakes head]

Echoes my exact thoughts Paul. It's actually pretty insulting Yes. I thought 'local newspaper' journalism had got more accurate over the years, but it seems not. I remember doing an interview with a local paper back in 89, we spent the whole interview stressing how we were the opposite of R 'n' B bands, how we may have done that when we first learnt to play, but had abandoned that and now we were doing something completely original (ahem)...... lo and behold, the article gets published and presto! we're an R 'n' B band I still remember the twat and his shorthand To add insult to injury, they came to a gig and wanted us to do that classic local paper pose for a photo - you know, the band squat with the unplugged guitars and the drummer waves his sticks in the air - needless to say, we refused
