I'm debating about buying a cheap synth for messing around with. I used to own a Juno 60 but traded it in years ago and now have a Casio keyboard that I tinker with (but obviously all preset sounds).
I'm not a keyboard player but do enjoy experimenting and teaching myself small licks from different Numan songs so naturally I don't wanna pay too much (£100-£150 - (or perhaps that's totally unrealistic?).
Anyway, any advice on models/prices would be appreciated from all you experienced heads.
Incidentally, cheap recording equipment suggestions would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance. ;D

When I first started out on the analogue type route, I bought a Roland HS60, which is basicaly the same as a Roland 106 but with built in speakers. They tend to go for a little more than your £150 top price, but I still use it today along side Moogs, sequential Circuits stuff etc. It has an easy feel to it and can create some great sounds. The 106 goes for more money, but not many people know that the HS60 is the same thing.
If you want something MAD-er then an ARP AXXE goes for about £200 these days - Totaly analogue. Or A Yamaha CS5 has gone for less on ebay recently.
A cheaper idea would be to look out for second hand PC software, but you cant beet the feel of a real synth sometimes. Good luck & welcome to the analogue bug ! ;D
