I always thought that there were some sounds on metamatic that sounded like a polymoog. I just saw the video for underpass and there is a lot of shots of a polymoog on it. So maybe there was one used on the album after all....

I do know what you mean Heath but I think you're confusing the classic ARP Odyssey "Siren" sound with Vox Humana. Easily done too... especially when you consider that on albums like "I, Assassin", Numan would layer the two together (a classic case being We Take Mystery). The way to spot the Odyssey though is to listen out for the heavy mod slider flicks which you know the Moog is incapable of.
Doubly confusing is Foxx using a Polymoog and CS-80 as props on the "Underpass" video. Neither of which were ever used on the Metamatic album.
Pretty much everything on Metamatic is a whiteface Odyssey and a CR-78 and the early demos I have are just that and nothing more. There were a few other keyboards used for overdubs like the strings on "Touch And Go" and the acoustic piano on "No-One Driving" and a touch of live bass guitar but that is it really.

Thinking about it... Jordan, could you link your version of Engineers please? You got the Odyssey siren down to tee on that mate and it demonstrates perfectly what I'm on about. That and the fact that I think it's a stonking version anyway ;D

.... and the early demos I have..... Cough! Excuse me, what demos are those, then? I'd very much like to hear those, if at all possible? Pretty please?

I'm with Heath on this - there are a few bits on Metamatic that sound spot on like a Polymoog to me. Not saying there is one, but it certainly sounds like it. Haven't got my copy to hand so can't point at anything specific unfortunately. Um, there not much about the Odyssey stuff on my Engineers track that sounds owt like a Polymoog to me, but seeing's you asked so nicely here it is anyway ClickificateThe siren-ish patch starts at 2:55.
