To be honest, better than I expected. I'm looking foward to hearing it at normal audio quality. It seems Numan might just have saved the day. However I hope he doesn't try to make everything anthemic, the pace changes on Telekon are one of the things that make it the classic it is.
If he upgrades the light show I might even consider popping up to your hemisphere for one of the european gigs. I can see obvious advantages to Amsterdam!!!

Yes, even though it's mp3. i put it through some multiband compressors and enhancer units to bolster it a bit on my studio monitors, can't wait for the proper audio. i really like the odd breakdown towards the end. You can even here some synths in there too

I only heard a snippet from some site. Sounds almost like a Polymoog? Not that I think it is, but it sounds a bit like it in the lo rez version that's posted. It sort of has a similar hook as in We Take Mystery to Bed.

Seems to me all that's going on is Gaz is just getting better at doing that type of music - nothing more. It's only taken him 3 albums to crack it :-) Face it Gaz, the Yanks do that kind of stuff much better than the Brits - and several years ago, at that. Just listened to Haunted and I'm sooooo disappointed he's sticking with that bloody piano/choir/plucked-thingy pre-set. Move ON, for Christ's sake. Mind you, if he'd got the Polymoog out of the shed (and used it) I'd probably be queuing overnight to buy the album...

Here , here ! However, Haunted does sound in a better direction than his last few tracks. I agree that he should use something else other than that decade old piano/choir thingy. (nice enough sound, but ENOUGH already!) How about a nice CP30 ! ! ! #peace#

I have to retract that a bit, as I had only listened to the live version on the Micro-site. Having now listened to the 'free' (can't wait for all the spam) download, I can see what mysterycircuits was saying about it being a bit Polymoogy. Goes off and eats humble pie #nobody#

What if he brought back the female backing singers like in Outland? I'm not a big fan of that era. Incidentally, has anyone heard the song he did with Stephan Merrit's band The 6ths from about 5 years ago? It's the most old style Numan I've heard since the Eighties. I don't think he did any of the music, he only sang on it. Does Gary Numan not care for analog sounds? Seems like as soon as it could be replaced, it was, and he hasn't looked back. I'm not too knowledgeable of his newer material, but that's what I gather. tinyurl.com/rmmfaHere's a link to the 6ths album. It's track 10, and there's a 30 second preview of the song. Mod edit: fixed link

What if he brought back the female backing singers like in Outland? What if I take every unsold copy of Outland from under Gaz's bed and throw them like sharpened discus at any female backing singer who ever goes near Numan's microphone again?

That bloody piano - it's like some bizarre audio crutch for Numan. Like the Polyish sound - and nice to hear some more 'live' drums, rather than just those usual loops.

My problem is with seeing Mr Numan live these days is the fact that I stand there thinking compared to the Teletour or even some of the later tours this just doesn't cut it. Being fortunate or unfortunate to be old enough to have been there means nothing he can ever do now with a D this or Quadra that can ever touch the floor shaking to a very loud Polymoog a screaming Odyssey or a booming Mini and a sweet everthing else.
Sometimes his newer album tracks show glimmers of hope but I find I buy or listen to them because I ought to rather than with any great expectancy that it might blow me away.
