Ahhh a RAFT this time. Quick one Jords, you were saying sometime ago that it was piss easy to get "that" sound from yours and yet Col say's he can't get near it with his. Can you just confirm that for me mate? Being forty minutes from central london I'm within temptations range, especially if it goes for throw it in the rubish money.

Okay here a quick stab but bear in mind the following: 1. Mine has a fault which makes voice 1 really noisy. These things aren't that quiet to start with but mine's pisspoor, and I can tell voice 1 is far worse than voice 2. 2. I spent zero time on the fx version , so you have to promise not to take the piss out of the crappy 'verb or the lame chorus. In fact listening back I'd rather I hadn't bothered at all ;D 3. I wasn't A-B-ing with a Numan record trying to get a perfect match, it's just a vague idea off the bat with whatever I had hooked up at the time. Hopefully you'll see the potential Raw FX

Well you're doing the usual Jordski beating yourself up before anyone else does! I can live without the effects version but the raw cut just sent shivers down me spine Thanks

I hope it's just the smell of dusty boards and nothing else Jords. I just had a bash at the processing on your raw clip back here with outboard rather than plugins. What d'ya reckon?

Be lovely without the noise wouldn't it? Part of the problem is the bloody output is so weak (the spec of the line out is -20dB!) you've got to crank everything up to get some signal, by which time all the other crap is swamping it. Grrr... Col reckons his is quiet enough, so mine must be particularly bad

I wouldn't knock yourself out mate. Have a listen to this!
Hissssssssss
A rare "unprocessed" example and straight off CD with no clean-up Seems Mr Numan's CP-30 was in a worse state even back in 1985. One Dodgy DITP Intro too many from Mr Haines perhaps

Shaun
You should not miss out for that money. They are not that complicated to fix so go for it.
As far as the Numan sound is concerned I could not get that close. I was trying to get the "Slowcar to China" sort of thing. Having said that I have limited FX and as you pointed out a decent delay and reverb is needed.
As Jordan said they have a fairly low output. Mine is at full chat all the time, but it's not noisy.
I think Jordan should put his in the car and bring it down in July. Then I can try and sort it and deliver it back at some point. I have a friend near Edinburgh and it would be an excuse to visit.
