Went to town with some friends in an effort to find some cheap CDs! Of course Gary Numan was on the list. Tried HMV, Virgin, and Borders, and none of them had the albums I wanted. They didn't even have The Pleasure Principle! Apparently the look on my face was giving the impression I was going to smash the store up! The only bargain I picked up was the best of OMD, which was £2.99. The rest were basically full price.

Telekon, Replicas, and one of the Living Ornaments live albums.
I was also looking for Yazoo - Upstairs At Eric's but had the same luck.

This reminds of when I got into Gary Numan over 10 years after Cars came out, and in the US. He really didn't exist at all in record stores or anywhere else. I saw so many Ted Nugent tapes, and suggestions that Gary Numan sang 'Short People'. It also didn't help that at first I was looking for "Newman," though that was quickly corrected. This led me to the discovery of cool independent record stores. I called a place that had a used copy of Pleasure Principal on vinyl. The next day, my stepmother drove me across town to buy the record. That led to obtaining Replicas, Telekon, Dance, I assassin, and so on, and so on. And ultimately a Polymoog

in my area of the US all you can ever find at this point is Replicas, TPP, and the hybrid boxset
they can't even special order any of the living ornaments for me, so i've still to hear any of them.

Wow, I think I still have my most all of the Numan albums I bought about 8 years ago. I went on a kick and tried to buy all of them. This was when they were re-issued. I've thought about selling a bunch of the little listened to live albums that I have and just keeping living ornamnets 79 and 80.

My friend took me to a vinyl shop. It was interesting discussing how his biggest and most popular albums were completely unavailable in high street stores, whereas his later stuff is easily obtainable. Found Telekon and Living Ornaments 80 on vinyl for £4.50 each. Might buy them tomorrow.
