There's a big thread on Gearslutz about this. It appears the guy was a working musician (cruises, weddings etc.) and this had been under his bed for 10+ years. As he isn't a synth freak like us he put it on without researching current values. To add insult to injury the buyer (who was understandably in a rush to collect before the seller got emails/phone calls with higher offers) could only get £300 cash and payed the rest by cheque... which bounced! Anyway, eventually the buyer sent him a cheque for £150 as means of apology for the bounced cheque, knowing that he still had a bargain. Apparently the seller isn't rich from those cruise ship gigs and has a stamp business. He was up so late putting all his stamps on eBay that buy the time he got to the JP-8 he rushed it. This is one instance where he should have ignored, "Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today." Thing is, I never saw it because I know I can't afford one, so it's not in my eBay searches, as these days people (apart from this guy) can easily search previous listings to get an idea so there are few bargains on eBay anymore.
