Minikorg 700 Restoration Project I bought this machine a few years ago with the intention of restoring it. Unfortunately I simply haven't had the time, and I can't see it happening anytime soon. So it's been sitting (carefully packed in bubblewrap, polystyrene, and cardboard), nice and dry in the back of my garage next to the Crumar Stratus (which I sold last week). Time for it to move on, and someone else can have the fun. I'd describe it as "cosmetically challenged". There's the missing one and a half keys. They shouldn't be too difficult to source from somewhere like vintageplanet.nl, as they are the same keys used on some Moogs. Secondly, it should be a nice wood veneer, but some previous owner decided to paint it black - a long time ago, and it needs either stripping back to wood, or a repaint. Some of the knobs and slider tops are missing. But it WORKS. Mostly. Certain bits don't appear to work (delayed vibrato for one), and others behave oddly (portamento springs to mind). But it IS playable. The weird filter controls and the chorus both work. Like all old synths, it takes a while to warm up, but then it seems stable enough. Like I said in the title, it's a restoration project. To the right person, it'd probably be a doddle. I am NOT that person. ARE YOU? Fixed up, a vintage analog synthesiser like this would be worth a LOT of money. Ends: 21 Oct, 2012 @ 18:30:29 BST
