Is the Musicaid one is worth more than the Simmons then Ant? Wouldn't have though there'd be much in it TBH #eeeeek#

Is the Musicaid one is worth more than the Simmons then Ant? Wouldn't have though there'd be much in it TBH #eeeeek# Well it's rarer than the Simmons and is the one Numan used, plus I think it has more parameters on it. I mistakenly thought it was the Simmons one he used - I didn't know about the earlier Music Aid one. Still nice to have for £60. Anyway recently a Music Aid one went for about £35 or something stupid. I buy stuff at that price, but not these silly prices. Clap Traps seemed to be starting to creep up to the £200-£250 mark but if this goes for the asking price anything could happen. I could easily sample it for the amount of sounds it produces and sell it it this one goes for silly money. I see there have been some offers on it: I wonder what sort of price range they were? [edit]It's just been re-priced at an additional $100, that's $950 now! #eeeeek#[/edit]

I tried sampling my own musicaid for the DS sample packs but I gave up on it in the end Ant. I might resurrect the project once I've cleared the backlog like the ever looming CR-78. The problem I was having was that even in one state, (set it and forget it) the amount of analogue variation between each clap meant I would need at least 32 hits per setting to get anywhere near faking it with a sample pack. Add to that the amount of usable clap sounds you can get from it, it just overwhelmed me at the time ;D

I thought of sampling the digital clap side and the analogue noise side separately - allowing the user to mix them and come up with the infinite combinations. However, you're right, especially if you also take into account the "Humanize" function which adds another random element. Still, for $950 it might be worth a punt trying to sample it. I might resurrect the project once I've cleared the backlog like the ever looming CR-78. *ahem*
