Well, let's think about this for a minute.... Monophonic synthesizers are great! I love them and some could not possibly be made polyphonic.... but it's about time Moog gave it another shot, right? I mean, they'd certainly broaden their player base! I'm not saying that Mono is better then Poly, or vice-versa, I'm just saying, rather than milking the Voyager franchise (yet again) perhaps they should bring something new to the table.....

There has been recent rumors of a "slim phatty" coming soonish and also prior to that they were supposedly working on doing a polyphonic synth again.
I think this XL version is probably as expensive as they can go for a monophonic synth.
They would probably sell more polyphonic synths than XLs but probably there would be canilbalisation of sales from people who just want a Moog, whether mono or poly.
