Seriously, bonus points for anyone off this forum who actually buys something off this thread, and oodles of points and respect to anyone who gets it working! (themselves or at sane tech costs).

Here's another one: Polymoog 203AI've tried to rebuild a Polymoog that had a blown power supply before, you can bet that at least half the chips inside will need to be replaced just to get it running at all. He also has the balls to try to justify his price by comparing it to the earlier auction of a FULLY RESTORED Polymoog! I want some of what this guy has been drinking! Then there's his shipping quote: $425!! #horror# To put that in perspective, that amount will fill up my car TEN times. Given the mileage on long trips, about 380-390 miles on a tank (about 612Km), I could drive 3,900 miles on the money he's charging for shipping! It's 785 miles from my city to his, so, let's see here: Round trip is 1,570 miles, so on his shipping charge, I could drive there and back TWICE, then go back again and hang out for awhile!

"UPDATE: Some damned fool bought that thing for the full asking price!" - Brassteacher
That's not that bad. I have a record of one (Moog Satellite) selling fairly recently for $410.00.

It bothered me too how he was comparing it to the fully restored 203a (with pedal and stand). I emailed him about an error in his listing initially which said "This synth is famous for it's Vox Humana patch"

I emailed him about an error in his listing initially which said "This synth is famous for it's Vox Humana patch" The same Polymoog re-listed: Dead PolymoogThis guy has BIG stones, he upped the "Buy It Now" to $1,500.00, and the shipping to $576.65! #yikes# Given his response to my e-mail cluing him in to what can happen to those things when they blow a power supply, and how much a buyer may be paying to get it working, just as a bit of friendly advice, he is not only brazen (he actually said "But it's STILL a Polymoog!", he is an asshole. Feel free to harass. Personally, knowing what I know after working on two of these things now, I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole! Even if it was FREE! I know how much parts cost .

What I love is how he is going against common sense (in more ways than one). It doesn't sell the first time so let's RAISE the price and shipping! That ought to get it out the door.
