In the words of a person who fluently speaks Ebonics: "Sup' B?" i wonder if they just pick a random letter in the alphabet? Welcome to the forums, i am very new here myself and everyone is real nice to me..... and by that i mean i haven't been verbally shot in the face yet Oh, and one more thing: If you don't own a Polymoog... you are not alone. Neither do i, i actually wouldn't want one if i could though... "Cheers"

Oh, and one more thing: If you don't own a Polymoog... If you don't own a Polymoog... you're JUST as welcome here as anyone else. If you don't even own a synth of any description you're welcome. This place is for anyone who makes music to enjoy Polymoogs do hold a certain fascination though

Ah... that's good to know. I thought i was the only person here that didn't own one of the PMs! That's a common misconception about this place and one that I have to accept responsibility for through bad promotion I guess. I'm crazy about vintage synths and I'm very proud to run the polymoog Owners club from the site. I'm also even more obsessed with analogue beat boxes but equally I love music. If a guy from Senegal who plays the Kora wants to sign on and discuss which oil can makes the body for the best thumb piano (one of the flat rectangular types I beleive with hacksaw blades for tines) or the best Djembe he ever bought from the drum maker in Serekunda (a nice guy who I spent a day with once) then I'd be thrilled to bits. If someone from Greenford who once played his nephews Casio home keyboard in a drunken stupor three christmases ago suddenly has the urge to buy a usb keyboard and continue the experience in the privacy of his own laptop... then bring it on. No limits!

Which strangely enough reminds me of one of those defining moments in my interest with music tricknology. When I was about twelve or thirteen I had this really rad music teacher (sadly I can't even remember his name now) who had a massive thing going for Queen and 10cc, (both bands being uber awesome in the production freaky tricks dept at the time). One day in his class, (typical adolescent) I was bored and started twanging my ruler on the edge of my desk making "boing boing" noises, (changing the depth of overhang to get different pitches). My mate beside me was twanging a rubber band. Well the teacher had this old 4 track reel to reel and he stopped the lesson to mic us up and record what we were doing. He must have recorded us at 15ips because what he did next blew my mind. He played it back at 3.75ips (a quarter speed) and it sounded like someone inside a huge iron pipeline banging on the inside with a mallet. The reverb and stuff was phenomenal. Anyway, it turned me on to messing around with recording in a big way. Just thought I'd share that

I just discovered I live on the same street as the once installed Telharmonium. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teleharmonium I just missed it by about, oh, 100 years or so. And a few avenues. I'm also curious to see the remains of Tesla's Wardenclyffe Tower which is about 60 miles away in Long Island.
