Good luck mate. It seems a good time to buy on the bay at the moment. Not sure if it's because of the nice weather but the mentalist bids seem to have dropped off a bit this last few weeks. I saw a mint Rogue go for £225 yesterday (I should have nabbed it #wall# but was convinced it would go for another ton in the last five minutes). Nabbed me a Proge 336BX with built in MIDI today though for stupidly low money and HANDS OFF THIS BABY cause she's mine ;D

Yeah, I agree about prices on the 'Bay at the moment. There do seem to be some genuine bargains around for once. Not so good if you're selling though

Ask some questions first Andy
The Pro Soloist has a Custom Ic in there that is so hard to find that it makes a Divider look as common as a Ford Mondeo
If the Vca has issues it could well be that baby that's gone. Many ARP's use Tantalum caps in the Psu and when they fail they nearly always fail to a short taking out other stuff as well commonly the Vca on a Pro Soloist.
If it's gone you are realistically looking at a write off unless you get lucky.

I'm grateful, Col. The seller is selling on behalf of his late father and can't / won't answer any tech questions. I may let this one go.. Shame, 'cos it looks immaculate, doesn't it?

It would be a good price if it were something simple but with a non worker you have to be prepared to get stung.
For all you know it might have been written off by a tech and bunged on ebay. You never know.
Jordan's Poly was a classic example of a sold as non worker on Ebay but it had so many faults on every board that there is no way that happened in normal practice. Someone had put a load of duff bits in it to make it complete and then sold it as a non worker with unknown faults. Yeah Right. Most people know the true value of analog stuff these days and if it's cheap there's usually a reason.
Perhaps i'm just cynical in my old age as i'm sure there are bargains to be had but not as many as there used to be.

For the record I'd like to add that Mr Spoonz here hunted down and corrected these faults. Good job I'm not planning on selling Col
