It's never been released on CD - it's only available as vinyl as above, and was the B side to Jungle Line. It is on the recording of the live show that was released at the time - the one (shown on BBC I think) where TD was a projectionist 'showing' a film of the band playing live (prob where the live recording of Jungle Line comes from). Believe it or not but I haven't got a deck at the moment so can't transfer it on to the PC. When I can I'll send you an MP3.

Please do Andy, I thought I had everything covered from the early TD period but evidently not. Look forward to it, eventually ;D

Guy's I've only just noticed this thread ! I am a big Kraftwerk fan & have loads of their stuff on CD, DVD, Video etc etc including bootleg stuff & rare mixes of things. If any of you are after something Kraftwerk-y, let me know - I might be able to upload it somewhere for us all to share. I also have a little computer program that sounds just like the vocoded voice that Kraftwerk used alot. You type in words & it says them in a kraftwerk styleeee ;D All recorded as .Wav files so you can use them in your recordings !!!! Daniel.

I'm going to try to find copies of those old Thomas Dolby songs now. I LOVE old Thomas Dolby (and th newer ones too). Does anyone know if some of the rare pre-Golden age thomas Dolby is on the web anywhere? Basically all I'm missing is The Wreck of the Fairchild, and the Urges single and Therapy...
I have a copy of a Thomas Dolby BBC concert I could post somewhere in exchange

Hey Thanks for the thread. Made me check out my old Thomas Dolby; 12 inch "windpower" single and an early 80's "very best of". First time in 18 years!!Perhaps the very first I have to admit on first listen I didn't get it but then I have been listening almost exclusively to NIN recently. Now I hear great production and strong vocal with often amusing lyrics, and sounds very much of there time. What else is out there by him thats worth a listen? And what ever happened to Dr Magnus Pike!!!

Ah just found ThomasDolby.com "the flat earth society" and I find My "greatest hits album" is in fact "Retrospectacle" launched, so he says, in 1994. So that means it was 10 years before I finally gave it a fair listen not 18. Better late than never

And what ever happened to Dr Magnus Pike!!! Sadly Magnus Pyke passed away in 1991 but remains one of the great British eccentrics and an indelible 80's TV cultural icon as a result of the "Scence" video which is still dusted off on VH-1 now and then.

Thanks Russ, that was brilliant About the vinyl version? Is that complete and recorded in the studio or is it like the video soundtrack, chopped about with projector noises and stuff?

If you two are talking about Urban Tribal, then it is a 'proper' studio version. As you know I've got it here but no bloody deck to play it on! My memory is that the "live" version is better and more up-tempo than the Low Noise 'b' side, the bugger being that the only recorded version of the 'live' version is that chopped up tv thingy.
