I know we chewed this kind of thing over years ago but I forget exactly what was said. Marty bagging that 203 has reminded me I was listening to the Replicas Redux Early Versions album the other day in the car. Everything that isn't abviously Minimoog or SH2000 is a 203A isn't it? I presume this is fairly well accepted knowledge? Like I say I forget

Yeah, that's right. Chris told me he descovered the 280a / Vox Humana at Rose Morris when checking out new synths for GN.
As you know, Chris started working with Numan after Replicas was already in the can. Apparently GN went mad for VH, (doh! really) and hired a 280a in for the Principle demo sessions at Freerange in Covent Garden in April '79, (where Photograph, Random, Oceans and Gymnopodies were recorded).
I can't remember if a 280a was brought in for the second Peel session or not, (don't have the audio to hand as I write this) but the next session was at Marcus to work on the Freerange ideas and we all know that became the Vox Humana fest that was The Pleasure Principle.
