Looking for free software to replace my (now long gone) FL Studio set up. Tried Darkwave. Hmm. Buggy. Crash. Freeze. Corrupted. Bugger.
Any suggestions other than mp3track?
Hmm. I'd better clarify this. Just seen Audacity listed as DAW software...
I mean: sequencer, VSTi support, sampler, and ability to output to wav or mp3.
(I'm not short on vstis, and I reckon I can recreate my "sound" on pretty much anything.)

What about the one that is free from Computer Music magazine that might be worth looking at? they have their own free DAW... Garage Band or Logic Express on Mac
Why are you changing by the way?

FLS was installed on my previous work PC. It was a legacy from when I used to be involved with digital music at the Uni. New job (and new PC) doesn't involve that, so not allowed to install it. Don't have the media or license anyway. Bugger. Why does it have to be free? Because I'm a tight bastard. ;-) "Making Waves" has also been suggested by September. Jeez, I now have two evaluation projects on the go: -DAW Software (home) -Render Farm Software (work)

Making Waves looks like the kind of thing I want, BUT it keeps crashing. A lot.

At least you're an honest tight bastard That said, if you tinkered with bits of wood in your garden shed, knocking out bits of furniture etc. Would you get as far with a rusty saw and a blunt chisel? Still, it's your music mate ;D
