Seems like The Touring Principle originally released on VHS is finally making it's way to DVD, according to the official Numan website it ill be available at on the tour sporting 2 edits, one with those old effects and one without, plus an interview.
presumably, this makes the Micromusic DVD move a step forward too.

That's good news Shaun!
It figures that once those working through the process of organizing, digitizing the originals etc with Numan's ok will be outlining the route for Micromusic. Wonder would they do a surround sound option? And, I wonder is there any extra footage on those master tapes? (Shaun?) I would guess the transfer to vhs and betamax back in the day lost a lot of detail from the shadow end of the tonal range and resolution.
Incidentally if anyone is familiar with the film "Baraka" shot on 65mm neg that probably had the highest production values when transfering it to Blu-Ray.It wass known as an 8k conversion (or similar) ,each frame is 8000 pixels wide, approx 33 meg, Much higher than Blu-ray's format but future-proofs it for Formats to follow, the resulting 33 terabyte film file was then downscaled to blu-ray!

TTP and MM are both taken from the real to real film taken at the shows...no extra footage on TTP but a different camera angel never seen before added to MM..both excellent quality
and sorry no surround sound or 5.1 etc etc

A vague hint possible to the release date for MM on dvd?
The alternate angle sounds interesting is that for a few tracks or the whole show? Shame it won't be on Blu-Ray too... there's not many blu-ray concerts available yet and I'd go for MM on blu-ray definately then TP second.Guess blu ray requires a bigger production outlay. It would probably sell well on that format partly because it would have to fight less on the shelves in the tiny music section of the blu-ray section in stores.
And... will the effects be removed on MM? there are parts like at the end of M.E./Moral where it does that freeze frame thing...?
