Only had chance for a brief listen on laptop speakers. First thoughts.. Like the voice muchly. Tunes good, Production accomplished but perhaps a tad 80,s retro for my current tastes. Much better than I could do by any yardstick

I like your songs a lot Matt, quite a stylised vocal but a good sound and performance. Got a lot of 90's sounds in there but then the tracks are 10 years old! I think we'd all like to hear some new stuff from you, it's time to get cracking I reckon! Hopefully you feel inspired to get back in that studio, maybe find a collaborator if that's the way you want to go?

thanks. im a bit of a loner when it comes to creating and recording..but. when it comes to setting the sound to go live, then i work better with others, and rely on idea bouncing and suggestions All the guitaring on "here am i" was done by myself on a roland jd800, when i used to perform live i had two other members ,a very talented keyboard player, and a great guitarist, i used to front with the vox, those extra souls made live work possible, it maybe that to move into 2009 im gonna need fresh ideas and input, this can only come from collaboration. so i think you're probably right, thats the way to go. comments on the songs were appreciated, cheers

OK Matt, I'll start you off. "Ghost" is easily the strongest song of the three presented. I'd like to hear you start by re-recording it and bringing it bang up-to-date. Drop the zzzzzz intro and the naff Trevor Hornisms and use some bang up-to-date sounds and I think you'll have a winner. The song is the most important thing and this one's really strong so why not eh? I'm hoping that the process will kick start you off with a whole load of new ideas. Give it a try man

80's' 90's I am far too old to notice such minor changes in the space time continuum Yeah how about a remix Matt with some newer (or Older) production values

Nice to hear a key change on the last chorus of one of the tracks, people don't do that anymore!! ah, the old keychange, it became a trade mark of the typical europop/stk/aitk wat how to make a 3.45 hit single, most times you could hear it coming before the 1st chorus was through. just like the delay that stk aitk wat would have on the last word in the second line of each verse, of every song, when i realised this i almost transposed mine, back down again then i thought actually they have a point, so i kept it, gives it a nice lift,

Ooops I'm guessing you haven't heard much Jon Anderson or that bloke from Supertramp then yeah? Probably a good thing Stu It's rare to find a natural countertenor voice that doesn't break into squealing falsetto (Bee-Gees) these days. There have been a few notables in the past of course. Then you get amazingly gifted singers like Freddie Mercury who really is a one-off. Numan achieved his own high range from his throat, creating that distinctive Numanwhine which was not too dissimilar to Bowie's glam antics (hence the comparison). Matt however, seems fairly natural to me and I like the sound too. Despite it not being too fashionable these days, listening to his particular voice makes me think it's due a come-back. There are one or two "affectations" in there but we'll soon knock that out of him There's some lower backing vocals on one of the songs too which suggests he has quite a range so I would imagine there's a lot to experiment with.

i saw Queen live in southampton 1977 their first 4 albums,.......unbeatable, and you are right Shaun, mercury was a one off, if anybody knows A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, listen to "The prophets song," for me the best track Queen ever made, blows BR away,(thats not british rail by the way) if you have 'nt heard it, hear it soon, as for me. i spent so many years wanting to kick numan off the planet and step into his shoes, that im afraid my voice ,,,,over time , kind of moulded, trouble is, i liked it its nice of you all to take the time to comment, this is very reassuring. thanks guys in my defence, can i add that that before all the numan stuff, my voice was very close to that of a much younger elton john, (actually that may not be a very good defence) i prefer it with the numan edge,
