Hi All,
New here, by invitation from the Polymoog god himself (no names needed), so a big hello to you all!!
I use the same handle as on AFE, and if you have a look under The Studio, you will see my (messy, but since tidied up) set-up.
Been making noises (music??) since I was 13, I think pretty similar to a few threads on AFE...Learnt how to play "I Nearly Married A Human" on my casio VLTone because to my ears then the "Fantasy" preset was not a million miles away from the main melody sound
Progressed to a Jen SX1000, then a Yamaha DX9, then a Ensoniq ESQ1 and I've owned quite a bit of stuff in between.
I love analogues though, I have two Macbeth M3X's , a Korg MS20 and a Juno60 amongst my collection.
I also play a bit of guitar and have a sunburst Gibson Les Paul Custom (yes it does look like GN's ,but this has a black scratch plate and is not a "ringer") as well as a hand-made guitar built back in 1984 by Gordon Whittam who was one half of Gordon Smith guitars; it's a "Gordy" Strat.
I also like old fx pedals, I used to won a GB Spring years ago, it was old then but I gave it to a friend..
I am a bit lapsed musically at the moment and I am going through a bit of a creative dry spell, but it's great to perhaps chat with fellow analogue nutheads..
Never head the pleasure of playing the Polymoog keyboard and the Holy Grail of all Numan fan sounds, "Vox Humana", the closest I got to a Poly was at this electronic whizz's house who had one in bits on his landing..
take care,
I'll try to post soon
;D
