Saw the Nails last night. My girlfriend had never heard them before and wondered if theyd be similar to the Killers we saw at Hyde Park. Hmm.  She really enjoyed it though.
They played a few regulars but mostly stuff from the last 3 albums. Then some geezer called Numan pops up on stage and they knock out Metal and Cars.
Numan was well up for it,bashing out on his Polymoog,sounded great on the outro to Cars.
Great gig no doubt theyll be clips on youtube in about 3 minutes time.

It was actually Martin's Polymoog. Trent's people contacted me last week and asked if they could borrow one for the show. Martin was happy to oblige. He brought down three all the way from Kendall in his van (just for backup).
It was a surprise for Gary. He laughed when he saw it but was well up for it. The sound guys creamed it when they heard me sound checking. I tapped Numan on the shoulder just before his queue to go on and said "make sure its still set on Vox Humana or we're fucked" 
Great day but fucking exhausting. Martin's gonna post some pics in a bit.

That's brilliant folks. I've followed the AFENet threads with growing amusement from the polymoog not being plugged in to Numan not having it switched on etc.
Maybe he'll take the hint for the forthcoming PP Tour? I promise I'll try not to hijack the bus in Dublin and nick the synths.

LOL... no Gavin, he was far more worried by Reznor. He kicked a wedge off stage, a couple of mic stands and Martin's blood pressure probably went through the roof when Trent booted the polyevolver off as well...
Fortunately, we put the Polymoog on a wheeled base so it was at the side of the stage for most of the set!

Paddy, for those people on AFENet, I can guarantee the Poly was on and working. Fucking hell... you could hear it... how sweet did it sound? The NIN people were raving about it. Someone even said Numan wasn't singing either... these people are bonkers! #bergleblergle#

Just had a read on AFEnet. Dear o lord.I bet if that lot won the lottery theyd still complain. 
As you know,im not really big Numan fan ,but i must admit when he came on last night it was one of the highlights. Got a big reaction from the crowd too.

At the end of the first nails track reznor launched his guitar 20ft over the drummers head to the back of the stage,i then thought "oh no,he's in one of those moods" 
I'd like to say a public thank you to shaun for sorting it all out,it was an awesome experience to be backstage from 1pm till midnight and also a special word of praise for the NIN team,what a great organisation they are
Numan was brilliant,he didn't know reznor had organised the polymoog for him until he got there and he had the option of just singing if he didn't fancy playing it but he was game.
