I concur with what's been said. 2 tracks Liquidscreamer did which were also covers ("You're the one that I want" and "Fade Away and radiate") were both much more interesting examples of covers, in particular Y.T.O.T.I.W. because something new was extracted in the process. I still play YTOTIW.
A good cover to me is one that, 1.Retains enough information to connect it to the original, either one or all of the following : melody/sounds/lyrics yet REINTERPRETS that information in any new or relevant way to the artist creating the cover.
2. can stand alone as a good track without knowledge of the original.
The key ingredient is imagination while the technical side should help realise it.

I think that's the point Joe. Being a carbon copy of the original, all I can imagine people will think is that it's just the same but somehow not as good. Louise is a good singer but her performance lacks Moyet's professional confidence and there's been enough comparisons with her as it is so it does her no good to put herself in that position of being compared directly. Pointless really, unless they plan to get gigs on the '80s cabaret circuit as a Yazoo tribute band.
Martin are you suggesting that gargantuan cockage is a prerequiiste for all of Louise's collaborators.
With regard to the track; Its very accomplished but as its a reproduction of the original it invites direct comparison and that needs no further comment from me, you will all have your own opinions.
I read the link, you worked on the Sonnenbrandt album... I bought that, it's got some great tracks on it and clear production, what next for Sonnenbrandt?
Great to read that! There are plans to record at least a new Sonnenbrandt EP in 2010 but this might take a while... The problem is that I'm quite busy at the moment, so I don't have a lot of time available to write and record new songs - sadly...

Based on that connection and all that stuff about Polymoogs all over your new one, I will be buying this, though would be good to hear some clips.......

The VCF is included as well as the resonator filters. It's the static mode filters I've omitted.
If an owner of the real polymoog would like to assist me - I'm happy to have a go at the mode filters too! It would only require 1 hour of work for a polymoog owner to help me....

POLY album released! « Result #12 on Dec 29, 2009, 4:41pm »
Hello all!
I'm very happy to announce that - after a loooong time of preparation - my second album has just been released on the german label Anna Logue Records! And it's truly an an(n)alogue album: Apart from some samples in the rhythm tracks, all the synth sounds on the album were played on analogue gear, roughly 60-70% of them on the Polymoog 203A synths. --- Polymoog Pop!
So if anybody is interested in something like oldskool electro-wave-pop music: The album (DMM vinyl LP + bonus CD) is available here!

That was mooost informative dewd
I can't find a way to merge topics on here, I can only move them to different forum areas anyhow, given the nature of the clip, I think it can stay in the lounge next to the sleeping cat and the Akai XMS-10 flame retarded midi Xmas Tree #banana#

Well, I'll be damned. Good job on being the first to make a REAKTOR Polymoog! I've got your Synthex emulation (with my own GUI and internal tweaks) and OB-Xa! I will try this out as soon as a VCF is added!
